Courtland Gardens Healthcare Center Becomes Regency Heights of Stamford on January 1, 2011
Regency Healthcare Management to Assume Managerial Role/Jobs Saved/Improvements Planned
Stamford, CT, February 03, 2011 --(PR.com)-- Regency Healthcare Management, an affiliated company of Ciena Healthcare, a leading manager and operator of skilled nursing and rehabilitation communities, has announced the purchase of Courtland Gardens Healthcare Center in Stamford, Connecticut, effective January 1, 2011. The announcement was made by Ciena Healthcare President Mohammad Qazi.
As of January 1, the community will be known as Regency Heights of Stamford. The purchase price was not disclosed.
The 156-bed skilled nursing community, offering short-term rehabilitation and long term care, was in danger of closing if a new buyer had not been found. Regency Healthcare Management, which also operates three other skilled nursing communities in Connecticut, had been in negotiations with former owner Kindred Healthcare over the past year to purchase the community. Care of patients and residents will not be affected during this transition.
“We are very pleased to announce this purchase and bring about a new beginning for this community,” said Qazi. “We will continue to provide the high level of care patients and residents have come to expect, the transition will be seamless. And, at the same time, we are very happy to be preserving jobs right here in Stamford. We would like to acknowledge and thank Kindred Healthcare and the Connecticut Department of Public Health for working to develop a solution that benefits all parties, especially the current residents and immediate community.”
Regency Healthcare Management also plans improvements and upgrades to the building.
“We are in the process of evaluating the building and look forward to making enhancements to provide even better care for our patients and residents and a superior work environment for our employees,” added Qazi.
