DiscDish.com Celebrates Love in All Kinds of Movies

Website’s 14 Days of Romance event honors best films for Valentine’s Day.

Austin, TX, February 04, 2011 --(PR.com)-- DiscDish.com is celebrating the best romance in movies — but not just romance movies — in a special "14 Days of Romance" event running through Feb. 14, 2011. The premiere website for both mainstream and independent films on DVD and Blu-ray, DiscDish.com recognizes that love is in the air in all genres. Whether a movie’s about war, action, comedy, even football, it can have romance too. In anticipation of Valentine’s Day, DiscDish.com is honoring the best three films in 13 fun categories, including Most Romantic Time Travel Movies, Most Romantic Screwball Comedies and Most Romantic Fairy Tale Films. A different category will be revealed each day between Feb. 1 and Feb. 13, leading up to the special Most Romantic Movies of All Time on Feb. 14.

Some of the films DiscDish.com will be honoring: "Heaven Can Wait" in Most Romantic Football Films (a special category for Super Bowl Sunday), "True Lies" in Most Romantic Action Movies, "Bonnie & Clyde" in Most Romantic Gangster Movies, and many more. Each day, DiscDish.com will reveal a new category and its three best films.

The "14 Days of Romance" movie countdown will be the first of its kind to celebrate not just the love, but also the car chases, killer robots, football scrimmages, ghosts, guns and more in romantic cinema.

The list was compiled by DiscDish.com’s staff of home entertainment experts, whose work has been published in The Washington Post, Entertainment Weekly, Variety and Playboy, among others.

Launched in February last year, the fast-growing DiscDish.com was created by veteran home entertainment editors Samantha Clark and Laurence Lerman, formerly of Video Business magazine. Together with the website’s expert DVD and Blu-ray reviewers, the DiscDish.com staff has more than 50 years experience in the movie industry. The site is different from other movie and home entertainment websites in that it not only covers all the biggest mainstream films on disc, it also is a curator of the best in indie and cult films.

DiscDish.com also features interviews with the talents behind the scenes and in front of the camera, including actors, directors and writers, and runs regular contests and giveaways for new and classic DVD and Blu-ray releases.
