Foodista and Zephyr Adventures Will Host Two International Food Blogger Conferences in 2011

New Orleans, Louisiana and Santa Monica, California are the locations of two International Food Blogger Conferences in 2011. The conferences will explore the intersection of food, writing, and technology.

Seattle, WA, February 04, 2011 --(PR.com)-- Foodista.com (http://www.foodista.com), the online cooking encyclopedia everyone can edit, and Zephyr Adventures (http://www.zephyradventures.com/), the adventure travel company behind six unique blogger conferences focused on wine, beer, and fitness and health, partner once again to host two International Food Blogger Conferences (IFBC) in 2011 (http://www.foodista.com/ifbc2011/). Programs will include expert-led workshops, demonstrations, and panels exploring a broad range of issues and trends related to food, writing and technology.

The first of the 2011 conferences (http://www.foodista.com/ifbc2011nola/) will be held at the historic Hotel Monteleone in New Orleans, Louisiana the weekend of August 26-28, 2011. The second conference (http://www.foodista.com/ifbc2011samo/) will occur the weekend of November 11-13, 2011, at the Doubletree Guest Suites in Santa Monica, California.

Registration for each of the three day events costs $350, with capacities between 250 and 300. Early registrants have the opportunity to help shape conference agendas, speaker lineups, meals and other activities. Send proposals for session topics and potential speakers to ifbcspeakers@foodista.com. Sponsorship opportunities are available as well: ifbcsponsors@foodista.com. “The first two years sold out quickly and were so successful that we decided to host two even bigger and better events this year," said Barnaby Dorfman, conference co-organizer, founder and CEO of Foodista.com. "We created IFBC in 2009 because we wanted to meet others in this community, but found there weren't any other food blogger conferences in the world. These events became a way to share passion for cooking and learn from the people who inspire us.”

In 2009, Foodista hosted the first food blogger conference (http://www.foodista.com/ifbc2009/) to bring this online community together in one place. The company then partnered with Zephyr Adventures to create a larger, more dynamic event in 2010 (http://www.foodista.com/ifbc2010/). Leading food bloggers, authors, editors, publishers, and technologists filled sessions on topics that included:

-The Art of Recipe Writing
-Pitch to Publish
-Search Engine Optimization (SEO)
-Building Traffic and Social Media
-Food Writing with All Five Senses
-Law & Ethics in Blogging
-Food Photography

Speakers and panelists included James Oseland, editor-in-chief of “Saveur Magazine,” Morgan Spurlock, Academy Award nominated director of “Super Size Me,” and Molly Wizenberg, award-winning blogger (Orangette.com), author, and "Bon Appetit" contributor.
