Kovitz Shifrin Nesbit Names New Principals
Chicago, IL, February 05, 2011 --(PR.com)-- Kovitz Shifrin Nesbit, a Chicago area law firm, has recently named Jessica L. Ryan and Julie A. Jacobson principals of the firm.
Jessica Ryan has emerged an energetic and upbeat business leader with extensive expertise in forcible entry and detainer issues, covenant and rule enforcement, and collection of damages and fees for condominium and homeowner associations. Ms. Ryan received her undergraduate degree from Indiana University and is a graduate of the University of San Diego School of Law. She resides in Kane County with her family.
“I started at Kovitz Shifrin Nesbit as a commercial litigator, but soon found my home in the association collection department and love the hustle and bustle of being in court everyday,” stated Ms. Ryan. “The firm's commitment to social causes has also allowed me to dedicate my time to those less fortunate as chair of the Community Involvement Committee. I'm honored that the firm has recognized my efforts with this promotion and I'm excited to start a new chapter with Kovitz Shifrin Nesbit as a principal. In the coming years, I hope to be an integral part of growing our presence in the midwest and beyond.”
Julie Jacobson joined KSN focusing on condominium and homeowner associations, and then transitioned to handling a significant number of collection matters, evictions and landlord/tenant disputes. She thrives in the courtroom and has logged thousands of hours in Cook and collar county courts. Ms. Jacobson received her undergraduate degree from Arizona State University and is a graduate of the Chicago-Kent College of Law. She resides in Lake County with her family.
“Starting as a young Collection/Eviction attorney focusing primarily in Cook County, as well as handling all the Chicago land outlying Counties for Evictions, I was able to hone my craft and become uniquely talented in this area of law. Now, with the support of my Colleagues, I am able to practice specifically for the Northern area of Illinois.” Ms. Jacobson added, “I am grateful for this opportunity. The people are talented, the work product is excellent, and I have made a home here. I am looking forward to working with many new Associations and Landlords as well as my commitment to our current clients.”
According to Matthew Moodhe, Managing Principal of Kovitz Shifrin Nesbit, “Julie Jacobson and Jessica Ryan have both been an integral part of our Community Association Law Department for almost 10 years. They each have extensive experience with the assessment collection process and local court systems that is essential to our community association clients and an asset to the firm. Our clients consistently compliment Julie and Jessie on their practical, hands-on approach to resolving difficult cases. Over the past several years, Julie and Jessie have also led several of our firm's philanthropic programs, including our Annual Holiday giving programs which is successful in helping local families in need. We are proud to have Julie and Jessie as members of our firm and are excited about their future with KSN.”
Kovitz Shifrin Nesbit was founded on the principle of providing quality, personalized service to every client at a reasonable rate. The firm’s full complement of over thirty attorneys are experienced in condominium, townhome and homeowner association law, litigation, real estate, business, estate planning and insurance defense.
