Sebastopol, CA, February 05, 2011 --(PR.com)-- Charity Line Brings Community Inclusion Full Circle
Community Inclusion Project Success Leads to Joint Product Line
Dolce Mia, a Becoming Independent (BI) employer, has offered to donate 10% of the proceeds of a new product line, Spread the Love, to BI’s Family Resource and Advocacy Center (FRAC).
FRAC will receive national exposure through the marketing tools that Dolce Mia will use to promote the product line through their reps. A relatively new program, FRAC is in great need of financial support and for the 100+ reps at Dolce Mia (the majority being moms), helping families and children is a compassion-driven desire.
Since 2009, Becoming Independent workers have been coming to the Dolce Mia factory in Sebastopol to work in the production of Dolce Mia’s bath and beauty line. BI workers fill bottles, apply stickers, and perform other assembly and packaging tasks. BI workers also provide a welcome perspective and upbeat attitude and have become an important part of the Dolce Mia’s company culture.
“We are committed to the BI vision that people with disabilities can attain an improved quality of life through meaningful work, friends and community support,” says Jenny Mountjoy, Dolce Mia’s creative director and vice president. “We personally and professionally benefit greatly from our partnership with BI and its workers. We want an opportunity to give back to Becoming Independent and to our community.”
Dolce Mia will donate 10 percent of profits from Spread the Love products to Becoming Independent's Family Resource and Advocacy Center. The Center provides information and assistance to families and their children with all types of disabilities through education, support, and a variety of direct services. Ready for February Valentine's sales, Spread the Love products will continue to be available year round. Spread the Love is available in several bath and body travel size products and also as a gift box set.
“We look forward to promoting the Spread the Love gift package on our website, via Facebook, and here at BI,” says Lisa Folsom-Ernst, BI’s resource development director. “I'm so happy that the relationship with our BI employees has been so positive and that Dolce Mia is inspired to support BI in this way.”
