New Partnership Brings New Possibilities for Learning via Dialogue Education Around the World

Raleigh, NC, February 10, 2007 --(PR.com)-- Global Learning Partners (GLP), Inc. is pleased to announce that seven of its long-time associates, all of whom are experienced trainers and facilitators, have established a new partnership to expand its work of promoting effective learning through Dialogue Education.

GLP provides learning and consultancy services to help individuals and organizations improve how they design and facilitate learning in their workshops, seminars, presentations, and conferences. The company was founded in 1981 by Dr. Jane Vella, noted academic and practitioner in the field of adult learning.

In over 40 years of international teaching, Dr. Vella observed that adults learn best when actively engaged in the learning process through a “dialogue” with the instructor, each other and the content. She documented these principles of effective learning in her books, including, Learning to Listen, Learning to Teach: The Power of Dialogue in Educating Adults (Jossey Bass 2002), and suggested a number of instructional design and facilitation practices that enable learners to engage more deeply and learn more effectively.

Since Jane’s retirement in 2000, Global Learning Partners has continued to offer her Dialogue Education workshops, and instructional design and learning evaluation consulting services around the world.

Nearly 4,000 trainers, teachers and presenters on six continents have taken these courses. GLP has also partnered with organizations like the State of California WIC program, the Vermont Institutes, the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, World Vision, and Habitat for Humanity to equip their staff to teach and train more effectively. GLP’s workshops have garnered critical acclaim as a fresh approach to learning, including a 3.5/4 stars review published in the American Society for Training and Development’s April 2006 T+D Magazine.

The new Partnership, which will expand the accessibility of Dialogue Education for GLP’s clients, includes:

- Marian Darlington Hope (Boston)
- Darlene Goetzman (Allegany, NY)
- Peter Noteboom (Toronto, ON)
- Peter Perkins (Calais, VT)
- Karen Ridout (Raleigh, NC)
- Jeanette Romkema (Toronto, ON)
- Valerie Uccellani (Baltimore, MD)

All the partners are committed to building Global Learning Partners, strengthening their practice of DE, cooperating with GLP associates to encourage and support them in their work, and growing the community of DE practitioners.
