Gordon Law Group’s Philip Gordon Presents Wage & Labor Forum to Legislators

Gordon Law Group managing partner Philip Gordon conducted a presentation, “How to Guide a Constituent through a Wage Complaint: Employee Rights and Employer Obligations,” to Senate and House members and their staff on Tuesday, February 6th at the State House. The forum focused on employee rights regarding overtime, minimum wage, commission payments, wrongful termination, employee misclassification, severance agreements, non-compete agreements, wrongful deductions and equity compensation.

Boston, MA, February 10, 2007 --(PR.com)-- Gordon Law Group managing partner Philip Gordon conducted a presentation, “How to Guide a Constituent through a Wage Complaint: Employee Rights and Employer Obligations,” to Senate and House members and their staff on Tuesday, February 6th at the State House. The forum, sponsored by Senator Thomas McGee, Senate Chair of Labor & Workforce Development, focused on employee rights regarding overtime, minimum wage, commission payments, wrongful termination, employee misclassification, severance agreements, non-compete agreements, wrongful deductions, record keeping and equity compensation.

“It was an honor working with Senator McGee to put this program together,” states Gordon. “Now, when constituents reach out to their legislators for help understanding worker rights and employment issues, hopefully those legislators have the information necessary to help them get the protection they deserve.” 

Gordon is a leader in the area of workers rights and has been conducting workers’ rights presentations to groups across the state, educating workers about their rights as the first step to combating wage problems. He has testified before the Labor and Workforce Development Committee on legislation aimed at strengthen wage law and worker rights, and is a frequent talk show guest discussing topics regarding labor issues. Gordon is one of the Senior Partners for Justice of the Wage and Hour Project of the Volunteer Lawyers Project (VLP), and serves as Vice Chairman of the Public Policy Committee of the Jewish Community Relations Council (JCRC).
