Smarty Paws Dog Training - Positive Dog Training in New Hyde Park by Helen Del Bove
Specializing in clicker training, Smarty Paws brings positive dog training to the forefront in New Hyde Park and Nassau County with group and private lessons.
New Hyde Park, NY, February 06, 2011 --(PR.com)-- Smarty Paws Dog Training provides positive training that really works. Helen believes there are no bad dogs, only untrained dogs and that the key to successful training is clear communication and plenty of positive reinforcement. According to Helen, with clicker training, you can unlock your dog's true potential.
Helen Del Bove is an Animal Behavior College Certified Dog Trainer, a member of the Association of Pet Dog Trainers (APDT) and an AKC approved Canine Good Citizen (CGC) Evaluator. Helen began running group classes in 2006 but has over 20 years of experience working with dogs of all ages & breeds as well as dog owners of all ages. Helen believes that dog training should be a positive experience for both dogs and humans and she teaches how to work with dogs while keeping their tails wagging. Helen’s training programs teach owners how to become benevolent leaders for their dogs. The end result is that the dog learns to listen to cues and undesirable behaviors are eliminated or curtailed. With positive training, no puppy is too young to start and no dog is too old to learn. Socialization and training is crucial for the dog to live up to its true potential as a companion animal. Helen teaches proper socialization, how to build a strong bond with the pup and how to avoid common behavior problems.
Helen provides private, in-home instruction for basic obedience, common problem solving and behavior modification of serious behavior problems. Group classes are conducted year-round but primarily from April to November. New group classes begin March 5th & 6th and the complete schedule of 2011 classes can be found on the Smarty Paws main website.
Basic Obedience classes are conducted Saturday mornings, Sunday evenings and, beginning in July, Wednesday evenings. Puppy Kindergarten classes are offered Saturday mornings and Tuesday evenings in March. The more intermediate and advanced classes, "Better Basics" and "Beyond Basics" begin in May.
Anyone interested in joining a group class should submit their registration forms (available at the Smarty Paws main website) no later than one week prior to the class start date. Interested dog owners may call Helen at 516-395-7884 or visit the Smarty Paws Dog Training website at http://www.smartypawsny.com for more information about Helen and her training programs as well as some helpful tips and fun photos.
Having an untrained dog can be stressful and extremely unpleasant. Helen believes that dogs should enrich your life, not burden it. As Helen is fond of saying, "Train your dog before he trains you!"
