FSU/Asolo Students Raise Funds Performing “Theater at Home Resource”

Sarasota, FL, February 07, 2011 --(PR.com)-- Theater patrons enjoyed the intimate setting and comfortable designer seating at the Home Resource showroom while viewing a performance by the FSU/Asolo Conservatory third-year students. Part of the ongoing cultural series called Theater at Home Resource, the students performed a selection of their own “London Monologues” to raise money for their upcoming New York auditions.

Last May, the students traveled to London to study theatre. Amid classes with West End professionals, the students were charged with writing a monologue – an abridged one-man show. “The results were comedic, twisted and unpredictable, but thoroughly entertaining,” said Home Resource owner Michael Bush, who is a supporter of the arts. He also serves as treasurer of the West Coast Black Theatre Troupe and the Sarasota Season of Sculpture.

FSU/Asolo Conservatory for Actor Training is a three-year graduate program culminating in a Master of Fine Arts degree through the Florida State University School of Theatre.
