First Web-Based Membership for Private Golf Club Members Has Teed Off Globally

Private Golf Connections launched the world's first web based global golf membership community dedicated to providing private golf members from around the world with an ability to privately and securely connect with other private golfers to play more Private Golf Courses locally and globally, and to enjoy social and business networking.

Oakville, Canada, February 12, 2007 --(PR.com)-- The world’s first web-based membership community dedicated solely to the more than five million plus private golf club members world-wide is now up and running.

Private Golf Club Connections Inc. (PGCI) of Oakville, Ont. launched its website Jan. 25 at the 2007 PGA Merchandise Show & Convention in Orlando, Fla.

“The concept of playing more private golf courses by connecting with other private golfers globally was well received by everyone who visited the booth at the show,” Rick Vyrostko, president of PGCI said. “We are delighted to see that a number of global members have already joined PGCI.

“Media, golf related magazines, club pros, private golf club members and a wide cross section of golf product and golf-related service companies all endorsed the PGCI concept and believe it will add great value to any golfer who already is a member of a private golf club,” Vyrostko added.

Private golf club members from four U.S. states, two Canadian provinces and three European countries have already joined. PGCI is offering for a limited time, a one-year free membership to the first person that registers from any private club from anywhere in the world. There are more than 5,000 private golf clubs world-wide.

Private Golf Connections’ members will be able to access the secure “members only” database of PGCI members and private courses from around the world and through the web-based system are able to connect directly with other members to arrange a game anywhere in the world where there is a PGCI member.

So, for example, a PGCI member of a private course in New York, Miami, Los Angeles or Toronto (or anywhere) might be travelling to Japan and is interested in playing a private course in Tokyo. For a small fee, they will be able to search for a member of the Japanese club and send them a request to be their host to play. If they say yes, the system allows the two golfers to finalize the arrangements between themselves.

Included in the many features, will be a member profiling system that will capture information such as handicaps, golf preferences, business information, player ratings and many other details so members can determine their desire to play with a particular person. After a game, both members will be able to rate their playing partners based on several criteria. All PGCI members will be able to easily review the ratings of the other members.

“This unique rating system will keep the member quality level very high,” Vyrostko said.
