Sarasota’s premier art event returns to Downtown Sarasota February 19 – 20, 2011 to once again transform the city’s popular Main Street into a first class outdoor art gallery. The artistic media represented include paintings, sculptures, photography, glass, wood, jewelry, collage and ceramics with prices ranging from $25 hand-designed earrings to $20,000 metal sculptures. Admission is free and open to the public.
The Downtown Sarasota Art Festival, produced by Howard Alan Events, is consistently ranked as one of the top 100 fine art shows in the country by Sunshine Artist, the nation’s leading publication for art and craft shows. The festival is held along Main Street in downtown Sarasota, spanning from 5 Points-Selby Park to Orange Avenue.
“This show, rated among the top art affairs in the country, draws locals and tourists alike for its eclectic mix of original art by the nation’s leading artists,” says festival promoter Howard Alan. “We feature a truly diverse group of very talented artists including new and emerging artists, it’s a wonderful opportunity to explore new works of art.”
The artists, juried by an independent panel of expert judges, are hand-selected from hundreds of applicants based on quality and diversity. All of their artwork is original and handmade in America. All artists will be on-site for the entire duration of the show available to discuss their art and inspiration.
