Top Designers Take the Runway to Benefit the Greater Nashville Affiliate Susan G. Komen for the Cure
Nashville, TN, February 12, 2007 --(PR.com)-- Fashion for a Cause, a Vanderbilt student-run non-profit, will be sashaying down the runways for the fourth year in a row in order to help fight breast cancer. The show will be taking place on April 12, 2007, and will showcase top designers including Betsey Johnson, Rebecca Taylor, Perry Ellis, and Cynthia Steffe. All of the proceeds will benefit the Greater Nashville Affiliate Susan G. Komen for the Cure, an organization dedicated to fight breast cancer.
Fashion for a Cause has been devoted to raising funds for cancer research since its first runway show in 2004. The organization was founded by Vanderbilt alumni Kendall Morrison, who was motivated by the impact of the disease on her family. “Cancer is a disease that has touched most of our lives. I have a vision to join the worlds of fashion and charity to help find a cure for cancer.”
Last year Fashion for a Cause announced its partnership with the Greater Nashville Affiliate Susan G. Komen for the Cure. The runway show raised $7,000 dollars, all of which were donated to support breast cancer research and education.
Past designers featured in the show included: Tibi, Tracy Reese, Catherine Malandrino, Perry Ellis, Betsey Johnson, Ralph Lauren Black & Purple Labels, Tommy Hilfiger, and Etro. This exciting evening includes a hors d'oeuvre reception, a silent auction, as well as other performances.
The Runway Show will be held on April 12, 2007 at the Vanderbilt Student Life Center Ballroom. Tickets are $15 and can be purchased at the Sarratt Box Office or at the door. All proceeds from ticket sales go to support the fight against breast cancer.
