Rohde & Schwarz Accelerates Testing of LTE chipsets with 4M Wireless LTE Stack
Several LTE baseband solutions incorporating the 4M Wireless LTE protocol stack are utilising the R&S CMW500 test equipment.
Munich, Germany, February 11, 2011 --(PR.com)-- Rohde & Schwarz and 4M Wireless announced today that they will jointly demonstrate the interoperability of their LTE products at the 2011 Mobile World Congress in Barcelona. The 4M Wireless PS100 LTE protocol stack is part of a number of LTE terminal baseband solutions which are being systematically tested with the R&S CMW500 test equipment. Both Rohde & Schwarz and 4M Wireless have been recognized as leaders in their fields within the LTE industry.
At the Mobile World Congress, several commercial LTE Terminal UEs will be on display that include the 4M Wireless protocol stack and rely on the R&S CMW500 for end-to-end LTE verification. Such continuous tests have been underway for over 2 years now and have included both TDD and FDD test cases compliant to 3GPP LTE Release 8. Terminal chipset developers are able to swiftly integrate the 4M Wireless LTE protocol stack and commence testing with equipment from Rohde & Schwarz.
A live demonstration of the R&S CMW500 tester in combination with an OEM LTE USB modem utilising a high speed LTE terminal chipset that incorporates the 4M Wireless PS100 LTE protocol stack shall be on display at the 4M Wireless stand at Mobile World Congress, Barcelona on February 14 to 17 (stand 1F58).
The demonstration will showcase the transfer of data at up to LTE Category 3 data rates (100 Mbps receive/50 Mbps transmit) and it will also highlight the successful completion of various LTE signalling procedures.
“Enabling our LTE terminal baseband customers to quickly and efficiently integrate the 4M Wireless LTE protocol stack and readily test the complete solution has been an important focus for us,” said Atif Malik, CEO at 4M Wireless. “The 4M Wireless PS100 LTE stack is highly optimised, portable and has been thoroughly tested. Working with Rohde & Schwarz test tools before embarking on LTE field trials helps our customers to minimize the time to market of their products.”
“This R&S CMW500 LTE Protocol Tester is being used by a variety of user equipment and chipset vendor as is further confirmed by this demonstration,” mentioned Anton Messmer, Director of Subdivision Mobile Radio Testers at Rohde & Schwarz. “We are pleased to be working with 4M Wireless and its customers to reliably and efficiently test their LTE products.”
