2011 Allianz Championship Tees Off Today with New On-the-Green "Events Within the Event" as Boca's Own Golf Legend Bernhard Langer Defends His Championship Title
Boca Raton, FL, February 12, 2011 --(PR.com)-- In celebration of five years in Boca Raton and the PGA Champions Tour tournament’s eleventh year, tournament management has added exciting new on-the-green “events within the event” to this year’s Allianz Championship now through the 13th at The Old Course at Broken Sound Club to benefit Boca Raton Regional Hospital. For the second year, general admission is free through the generous underwriting by sponsors Allianz Life, the City of Boca Raton, JM Lexus, Administaff, and Konica Minolta Business Solutions with opportunities for individuals and companies to purchase Partners Club tickets and executive skybox seating on the 18th green.
More than 85,000 are expected to come to Boca Raton from around South Florida and beyond to observe such golf legends as defending champion and Boca Raton resident Bernhard Langer, Nick Price, Tom Lehman, Corey Pavin, Peter Jacobsen, and Fuzzy Zoeller and tour rookies Mark Calcavecchia and Steve Lowery compete for the $1.8 million purse. Tournament week kicked off yesterday with the first Allianz Championship Women’s Executive Pro-Am presented by Lilly Pulitzer, and Pro-Am Draw Party in the evening.
