Business Consulting Solutions Hosting a Charity Basketball Tournament to Raise Money for Operation Smile
Business Consulting Solutions, Inc. gathers employees, local community members and local businesses in a charity basketball tournament to raise money for Operation Smile.
Rancho Cucamonga, CA, February 12, 2011 --(PR.com)-- Saturday February 12, 2011, Business Consulting Solutions will be holding a charity 3 on 3 basketball tournament to raise money for Operation Smile. The games will be held at Milliken Park in Rancho Cucamonga and teams will include members of the company as well as members of the community and surrounding local businesses.
Business Consulting Solutions, Inc. is a privately owned business consulting firm that first opened its doors in Ohio in 2003. In 2004, the firm moved to Atlanta and since then has expanded to 14 locations throughout the Southeast, Midwest. BCS decided to move its headquarters to the West coast in the fall of 2009.
Business Consulting Solutions first got involved with Operation Smile in the summer of 2010 with the goal of changing the lives of as many children as possible. Operation Smile mobilizes a team of surgeons and medical professionals to third world countries to heal children’s smiles. Operation Smile’s network of volunteers works worldwide to repair childhood facial deformities including cleft lips and cleft palates.
During Saturday’s tournament, the teams will consist of a minimum of 4 players, including at least one female, and a maximum of 5. There will be 16 participating teams playing in a round robin bracket with the top 2 teams advancing to the playoffs. To win their bracket, the team must be the first to score 15 points or be the leading scorer after 15 minutes. Each team will get to play a minimum of 3 games.
Each player will be donating $20 to participate. One-hundred percent of the donations will go directly to Operation Smile. Members have the option of paying through the operation smile link on the Operation Smile Website or by bringing cash or credit card the day of the event. Food and drinks will be provided for a $10 donation.
“I love being able to be part of a bigger cause and it is exciting to be able to have a team of people that feel the same way. Operation Smile is an amazing organization that has changed the lives of hundreds of children. I am proud of the team we have now and I am excited to be able to continue giving back to the community. Since working with Operation Smile, members of the company have participated in several charity events geared towards raising money for the event including charity wiffleball tournaments, Bowling For a Cause with local San Diego companies, and most recently a Dodgeball Tournament that combined proceeds with the Boys and Girls Club. Business Consulting Solutions’ goal is to raise $3000 for the cause by the end of 2011.
