American Writers and Artist Inc's Free “Work-at-Home Career Summit”
AWAI is pleased to present a free virtual event for people looking to work at home. During the “Work-at-Home Career Summit” participants will learn about eight (8) proven work-from-home opportunities from professionals who are having great success at them and learn how they can get started.
Delray Beach, FL, February 13, 2011 --(PR.com)-- American Writers & Artists Inc. (AWAI), www.awaionline.com, today announced a free virtual event that will take place on February 19, 2011. The Work-at-Home Career Summit is yet another addition to AWAI’s wide variety of programs and presentations featuring webinars, teleconferences, and published home study programs.
The main goal of AWAI members is to work at home, so AWAI is responding by providing the inside scoop on eight (8) work-at-home careers presented by speakers who all successfully work from home. “We know what aspiring work-at-home professionals want,” says Katie Yeakle, AWAI’s Executive Director, “We know how to get them there, and most importantly, after being in this business for over 14 years, we know what makes a good work-at-home career or home-based business.”
According to the Small Business Administration, more than half (53%) of the small businesses in the U.S. are home-based. Entrepreneur magazine estimates that $427 billion is generated each year by home-based businesses, with the average income being $63,000, according to the International Data Corp.
The Work-at-Home Career Summit will bring together a vibrant group of professionals who all successfully work their businesses from home. People such as Roy Furr, winner of AWAI’s 2010 $10K Challenge, who only last year made the leap from full-time job to full-time working from home as a copywriter; Nick Usborne, prominent web writer and social media expert, who has been working from home for more than 30 years; and professional graphic designer of 20 years, Lori Haller. Resume writer Julien Sharp and desktop marketer Donna Doyle will also be part of the mix.
The eight (8) speakers are each dedicated to a different specialty area, and each one is at a different stage of life: from Gary Scott, distinguished publisher for over 30 years, and Toni Rockis, who has turned her career of grant writing into a thriving home business, to Mindy Tyson McHorse, who is a copywriter and a young mother expecting her second baby soon. “These people will all talk about why they chose to work from home and how they made the transition,” said Rebecca Matter, Co-Managing Director of AWAI and Founder of Wealthy Web Writer. “They will show Summit participants what they can expect and how they can get started, too.”
By the end of the Work-At-Home Summit, participants will know how working from home can change their lives. They will:
• Get rid of that boss who looks over their shoulders all day long;
• No longer have to commute in all weathers, dropping the children off at the daycare on the way;
• Set their own daily schedules to meet their lifestyle and family needs;
• Spend time with family, and no longer miss special events like school concerts or sports tournaments; and
• Best of all – they will work from wherever they choose: home, the local coffee shop, or even the beach or mountains.
“I am a professional who works from home, and I always enjoy this virtual approach,” says web copywriter Ann Jordan-Mills, “I learn from a variety of speakers at the same event, and I can participate from my own desk or take my laptop with me wherever I go. If I happen to miss any of the sessions, they are all recorded, so I know I can catch up later.”
