The Eco-Vision Sustainable Learning Center is Nominated for Governor's Tourism Award
Lake Geneva, WI, February 13, 2011 --(PR.com)-- The Eco-Vision Sustainable Learning Center has been nominated for The 2011 Governor’s Tourism Stewardship Award. This award, which honors a business or community that uses or promotes sustainable practices, will be presented by Wisconsin Governor Scott Walker at the Wisconsin Tourism Conference on March 8 at the Kalahari Resort & Convention Center in Wisconsin Dells. Eco-Vision, a not-for-profit organization which support green education and entrepreneurship and is headquartered in Lake Geneva, Wisconsin, was recognized for its sponsorship of EcoFair360, a three-day green event held July 16-18, 2010 at the Walworth County Fairgrounds in Elkhorn. The Center was nominated by the Walworth County Tourism Bureau.
EcoFair360 was the recipient of a Travel Green Certification from the Wisconsin Department of Tourism. The Fair, which featured more than 100 exhibitors and 100 presentations and brought together more than 2,000 people, met goals including reduction of waste through reuse and recycling, water conservation and wastewater management, energy efficiency, benefit to the local community and to local farms and food providers, landscape conservation, and encouragement of alternative transportation.
The Governor's Tourism Awards recognize and acknowledge those individuals and businesses in the travel and tourism industry that have shown dedication, creativity and excellence. Sponsored by the Governor’s Council on Tourism, the Governor’s Award recognizes and honors people and organizations that have made a significant impact on Wisconsin’s Travel and Tourism industry.
