Hope International University Professor Guest Lectures at Cal State Fullerton
HIU Professor, Dr. Curtis Holtzen, guest lectures at Cal State Fullerton.
Fullerton, CA, March 10, 2011 --(PR.com)-- Located right across from the street from one another, California State University, Fullerton, (CSUF) and Hope International University have experienced a positive long-standing relationship. One aspect of this friendly relationship that is beneficial to HIU students is expanded program opportunities.
Another benefit to the close proximity is guest lecturing. Dr. Curtis Holtzen, Associate Professor of Philosophy and Theology at HIU, lectures every semester for Dr. James Hofmann’s class at Cal State Fullerton titled “Evolution and Creation.”
A friendship between Hofmann and Holtzen began in 1998 when Holtzen took Hofmann’s class. Since 2000 Hofmann has asked Holtzen to speak to his philosophy class and every semester Holtzen enjoys doing it. “I enjoy it very much. I think it gives me an opportunity to show students at CSUF that we are a school of Christians who value critical thinking and careful biblical analysis.”
The lecture was last delivered on January 31, 2011, and it was a critical analysis of the literary structure of Genesis 1-3 from the Bible. The class of about 50 students was made up of mostly liberal studies majors who plan on teaching after they graduate.
