Word Awareness Implements New Project Management Platform
Translation company in California finds perfect web-based solution to streamline tasks with telecommuting professionals
Santee, CA, February 14, 2011 --(PR.com)-- Word Awareness, Inc., a network of professional translators established in California, implemented earlier this month a new project management platform called ManyMoon to streamline translation tasks among different team members.
With ManyMoon, the Word Awareness team is able to have a centralized location to manage each project and all related tasks, including file conversion, translation, proofreading, and desktop publishing.
“It was the best option for us because it integrates many of the tools we were already implementing,” says Vince Lombardino, Word Awareness IT Manager. “We were already using Gmail as our email client, Google Calendar to organize our weekly schedule, and Google Docs to share some company documents with the team, so ManyMoon just naturally became the next step up to centralize and expand our resources.”
Another advantage is that the complete process becomes web-based: Team members don't need to install any software and there are no minimum requirements, compatibility issues or operating system restrictions. In other words, projects can be managed from anywhere with an Internet connection.
Streamlined translation process ― When clients need their documents translated, they send a request to translations@wordawareness.com. ManyMoon works within the Gmail window, so the related translation task is created and associated to a project number, which identifies the respective client and work cycle. The task is then assigned to the translator covering the language combination requested by the client.
A message is sent to each team member involved in the project to let them know that a new task is ready for translation. At the same time, an event can be added to the Word Awareness Google Calendar to assure an overview of the progress while keeping in mind the final delivery deadline.
All task files are available for download through the on-line platform, eliminating the need for email encryption. Once their work is done, translators can upload the final file through the task sheet and mark it as completed.
“We were shopping around for a few months and there was just no comparison,” Lombardino explains. “Because we have no way to predict how many projects we will have in a given month, we needed some flexibility, and ManyMoon offers us just that. We can manage as many projects as clients need us to complete without affecting our budget, while other solutions would have us upgrade our account if we needed to manage more projects due to a surge in demand.”
About ManyMoon
Manymoon (http://www.manymoon.com) is based in San Francisco, California and was developed by Amit Kulkarni and Manav Monga, two engineers who identified the need for an easy-to-use solution aimed at small groups that needed to track the progress of a given task. It is designed to be a web-based social productivity tool that, on the one hand, doesn't need much setup and can be used inside and outside an organization and, on the other hand, meets all security requirements that a company may have. The name is a reference to how ancient people used phases of the moon to track their life, so ManyMoon came about to help modern professionals keep track of their own work life.
