LiveCast joins leading LTE ecosystem providers to enable in-vehicle HD live video streaming demonstrated on the streets of Barcelona in a LTE enabled Audi A8
Barcelona, Spain, February 15, 2011 --(PR.com)-- LiveCast Media, leading provider of comprehensive end-to-end live video delivery platform for enterprise, demonstrates revolutionary HD quality video streaming over Long Term Evolution (LTE) technology. Expanding on its track record of innovation and industry firsts in the mobile video space, LiveCast collaborated with Alcatel-Lucent to showcase live HD Video over LTE in Audi’s A8 Car driving through the streets of Barcelona.
“We always look to bring the most advanced, value-added applications integrated with our End-to-End 4G LTE Solution to our service providers and their customers solving real problems,” said Ken Wirth, President, 4G LTE Wireless Networks, Alcatel-Lucent. “We teamed up with LiveCast, for showcasing live video streaming drive demos at Mobile World Congress because they have industry proven technology that fully exploit the magic of LTE”.
From February 14th to 16th, the LiveCast system will be used to stream live video from a 4G/LTE enabled laptop with attached HD camcorder inside the Audi A8 car. Location data from onboard GPS receiver will be integrated with the live feed to enable real-time dynamic tracking on a LiveCast enterprise map webpage.
The professional quality HDMI video feeds leverage the new hardware assisted video encoding capabilities resident on Intel’s Sandy Bridge processors. The result – high quality, live HD video available for viewing in demo stations using LiveCast’s Command Center application located at China Mobile’s LTE TDD/FDD International Summit in Hotel Arts, Barcelona and Intel’s booth in Hall 7, 7B28 at Mobile World Congress.
LiveCast’s live mobile video platform enables a plethora of high value features for 4G/LTE enterprise customers: one-way and two-way video, sophisticated stream monitoring and live switching at mission control, dynamic mapping of all video assets, interdepartmental notification capabilities, HD live-to-air playout with concurrent down-coded video streams available for viewing by any other connected device such as mobile phones.
“We’re thrilled to be selected to participate in Alcatel-Lucent’s cutting-edge TD LTE drive demo showcased in the awesome Audi A8 car,” said William Mutual, CEO, LiveCast Media. “To provide our enterprise customers with seamless global video streaming, we rely on the high performance LTE connection delivered by Alcatel-Lucent’s LTE Solution and the powerful hardware assisted encoding available from Intel’s Sandy Bridge processors.”
