Austin, TX, February 15, 2011 --(PR.com)-- The Society of American Mosaic Artists will work around the clock to create art mural for PeopleFund of Austin.

More than a hundred members of the Society of American Mosaic Artists’ (SAMA) will volunteer their time and talent on February 16th & 17th at the Hyatt Regency Austin to create a mosaic work of art for PeopleFund of Austin.

The PeopleFund of Austin, Texas is this year’s recipient of a large scale mosaic mural that will be created by volunteer SAMA artists during the Society’s annual American Mosaic Summit. This year’s Summit, to be held February 16-21 in Austin will result in a beautiful work of art that will be donated to this worthy local Austin non-profit organization to adorn the exterior of their new facility. The Marathon will take place at the Hyatt Regency Austin on Wednesday and Thursday, February 16th & 17th.

SAMA member Suzan Germond serves as Lead Artist for the event. Suzan is an Austin area resident and well known national mosaic artist who has written her own book titled “Found Art Mosaics”. She operates a mosaic studio in Lakeway, Texas, offering classes, fine art, and commission work. Suzan created the design for the mosaic mural based upon her stunning interpretation of PeopleFund’s logo. Materials for the mural will be donated by LATICRETE, Smalti.com and Perdomo Smalti Mosaicos Bizantinos.
