Newton Consulting Implements Global Oracle Project at ANSYS
Pittsburgh, PA, February 16, 2011 --(PR.com)-- Newton Consulting, LLC, a leading provider of information technology (IT) and human resource management consulting services, announces the successful implementation of a global Oracle E-Business Suite (EBS) R12 program at ANSYS, Inc., to improve core business operations and overall enterprise management.
“The key improvements and efficiencies in our core business operations as a result of this implementation will put us in a solid position for future growth on a global scale,” said Maria T. Shields, chief financial officer at ANSYS.
The ANSYS implementation team used Oracle’s latest R12 version of its EBS software to integrate global business operations across 23 entities in 17 countries into one central-functioning system.
The project’s scope included all financial, order-to-cash and procure-to-pay business support requirements with the implementation of 10 modules. Core modules and features include general ledger, fixed assets, multi-organization accounting, advanced global intercompany system, sub-ledger accounting, business tax, account receivable, advanced collections, accounts payable, purchasing, order management, inventory, bill of materials and projects billing and accounting. In addition, the software was fully integrated with an existing Siebel-based customer relationship management system utilizing Oracle’s advanced service-oriented architecture. The project scope also included integrating the Oracle EBS software with the latest version of ADP Taxware for North American operations.
The project was jointly coordinated by ANSYS and Newton Consulting, with executive oversight and day-to-day project leadership being provided by a combination of internal ANSYS resources teamed up with the Newton Consulting team.
“In our experience, it is rare for a client to provide an internal team that takes on so much of the project scope and integrates so closely with our team,” said Rick Newton, president and founder of Newton Consulting. “We’ve been an IT service provider for ANSYS since our company began and have found that this co-leadership method results in the best possible outcome for both the project and business. In fact, to implement the suite of Oracle R12 EBS modules on a global scale in 10 months and within budget is extraordinary.”
The key business benefits of the project include re-engineering key operational and financial management processes to meet global standards and best practices; streamlining systems from multiple global acquisitions; positioning the core business system for future growth and functional expansion; and meeting International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS) and Sarbanes Oxley compliance.
Newton Consulting is able to staff a project of this size through its unique business model and right resourcing methods, which attracts and retains highly experienced and specialized consultants to provide customer-focused, values-driven services and solutions.
