Elephant Insurance Awarded as 2011 Best Places to Work in Virginia

Glen Allen, VA, February 17, 2011 --(PR.com)-- Elephant Insurance (“Elephant”) was recently named as one of the 2011 Best Places to Work in Virginia. The annual list of "Best Places to Work" was created by Virginia Business and Best Companies Group. No other car insurance companies were shortlisted in the small employer’s category. Elephant is pleased to be a representative of car insurance companies in this category. Elephant is an auto insurance company based in Glen Allen Virginia.

Car Insurance companies are not often perceived to be “fun” places to work. Elephant, founded in 2009, is a newly-formed direct to consumer car insurance company. The auto insurance company encourages a climate of individual contribution, long-term commitment and profitable growth and believes people who like what they do, do it better. As a result it is possible for car insurance companies to be great places to work.

Organizations from across the state entered the two-part survey process to determine the Best Places to Work in Virginia. The first part consisted of evaluating each nominated company's workplace policies, practices, philosophy, systems and demographics. The second part consisted of an employee survey to measure the employee experience. The combined scores determined the top organizations and the final ranking. Best Companies Group managed the overall registration, survey and analysis process and determined the final rankings.

The ranking of the 1st annual Best Places to Work in Virginia will be unveiled and published in the February 2011 issue of Virginia Business.
