Derby College Footballers Triumph
Derby College's Special Educational Needs football team will represent the region in a national tournament.
Derby, United Kingdom, February 17, 2011 --(PR.com)-- Derby College’s Special Educational Needs football team, based in Derby and Ilkeston, has won the annual inter-college regional championship.
Derby played Loughborough College in the final of the Regional competition and now have their eyes on the national championships which will be held in Bath in April.
Team coach and organisers Richard Sudnik said: “We won the final on a penalty shootout which was incredibly tense but we were delighted to win 3-2.
"The tournament has been a great way to play competitive fixtures against other colleges and all the students have enjoyed the experience immensely."
This will be the second time in three years that Derby College will have represented the East Midlands at the National Championships.
