Historic downtown Stuart welcomes back Martin County’s premier art festival February 26 - 27, 2011. This two-day art affair showcases the work of the nation’s top artists including the finest local talent. The artistic media represented include paintings, life size sculpture, photography, glass, wood, jewelry, collage and ceramics with prices ranging from $25 hand-designed earrings to $20,000 metal sculptures. A portion of the proceeds from the art festival benefit the Stuart Main Street programs. Admission is free and open to the public.
The artists will line Osceola Street with their gallery style display booths, transforming this popular shopping and dining destination into a first-class outdoor art exhibition. The show will go through downtown Stuart starting at Osceola and St. Lucie, down to Haney Circle and continues on Osceola to Denver Street and down to Detroit Street. All of the artists will be on-site for the duration of the show available to discuss their art and inspiration.
“We look forward to each festival we bring to Stuart and the feedback is always fabulous,” says festival promoter Howard Alan. “We see many familiar faces each year as well as new art enthusiasts who look forward to exploring the work of the many different artists we showcase, it’s a great opportunity to discover the art of new and emerging talent as well as to revisit old favorites.”
The artists, juried by an independent panel of expert judges, are hand-selected from hundreds of applicants based on quality and diversity. All of their artwork is original and handmade in America.
