Rosser Goodman, a New Breed of Filmmaker

Director Rosser Goodman raises the bar on Independent Film Directors. Hollywood Reporter rates her as one of the "Five in Focus" Film Directors.

Hollywood, CA, February 17, 2011 --(PR.com)-- Rosser Goodman, Independent Director/Producer, has seen tremendous growth in the last year. Her company moved their office to the lot of Paramount Studios a year ago contributing to her growth and notoriety. As President of KGB Films, she has continued to thrive in the midst of some of the industry’s most powerful outlets. Over the past year, Rosser has aggressively sought talent, investors and good distributors for her film projects. She has successfully found the balance between creativity and productivity, by tying in the appropriate producers, writers and investors who have a stake in her projects.

Rosser also brings her infectious energy to her diverse team who keeps her informed about interesting themes and who help her in finding memorable film projects; those with both commercial and artistic appeal.

Rosser’s career as an emerging writer, director and producer began on the set of Steven Spielberg’s television series Earth 2. The experience proved to be most valuable and pushed her into a life long love affair with filmmaking. Today, Rosser has more drive and aspirations than ever. Her last feature film Holding Trevor, a cerebral dark comedy, got positive reviews in the influential film journalism of the Los Angeles Times and Daily Variety. Her original script Mongoose8 won the Panasonic Filmmakers’ Award for its unique story – a supernatural love story between two women with universal appeal. The film is scheduled to begin production in the summer of 2011. Currently, Rosser is in pre-production on the romantic comedy Love or Whatever.

Rosser’s independent projects have taken off due to her firm hand on the pulse of popular culture. She does not deviate from the original vision of her production company; that is to make good films that may also be considered vanguard. As epitomized by poet and artist John Cage, “I can’t understand why people are frightened by new ideas. I am frightened of old ones.”

Rosser is a new breed of filmmaker, changing the face of the traditionally male dominated industry. Although she is playing in a tough arena, she knows the rules of the game, that is, if you want to succeed you have to be the best…and Rosser is certainly gaining the respect she deserves as a Director/Filmmaker.

The Hollywood Reporter honored Rosser Goodman as one of the "Five In Focus" Film Directors. She has won countless awards for her films.
