Snap Fitness Announces Wes Winnekins as Chief Financial Officer

24/7 fitness franchise management team strengthened and poised for continued success.

Minneapolis, MN, February 18, 2011 --(PR.com)-- Snap Fitness, the world’s fastest-growing franchisor of state-of-the-art 24/7 express fitness centers, announces the appointment of Wes Winnekins as Chief Financial Officer (CFO).

Wes, who most recently served as CFO for Health Fitness Corporation for the last 10 years, will oversee the day-to-day financial operations of the company.

“Wes has been a great addition to our leadership team and will play a valuable role in the success of our brand,” said Peter Taunton, Founder and CEO of Snap Fitness. “He brings a new depth of experience and insight to our company at an important time when we are expanding our domestic and international operations and broadening our services."

Over a career that spans 25 years, Wes spent 3 years in the commercial health club industry providing finance and management leadership at two multi-purpose health clubs and 8 years working for startup and emerging growth companies in the software and Internet markets. As the Chief Financial Officer for Health Fitness Corporation, a leading provider of corporate fitness and health management services, he played an integral part in growing annual revenue from $26 million to $83 million, raising capital to finance two strategic acquisitions and managing the company’s sale to a strategic buyer.

“Managing the fiscal operations of a worldwide franchisor of fitness clubs is a role of great responsibility, and I’m excited about the opportunity,” said Winnekins. “Snap Fitness is dedicated to providing members with more value than any other health club and it’s my goal to ensure that we effectively utilize every resource we have to meet their needs.”

While Snap Fitness offers the same quality equipment as traditional health clubs, the booming brand is setting industry standards by focusing on complete member wellness and providing a host of products and services designed to give members better results and more value for their money. By scaling down in size and eliminating unnecessary amenities such as swimming pools and racquetball courts, Snap Fitness offers customers a quality, affordable workout with strong emphasis on customer service and convenience.

As part of their development in training programs, Snap Fitness recently launched easyFIT, a personal wellness program that helps users achieve their fitness goals and better results. The easyFIT device is used to track people’s physical activity and calories burned, allowing them to then download the information to their computer.

Having opened its first franchise in 2004, Snap Fitness is the fastest franchise system to reach 1,000 club openings in such a short period of time. Today, Snap Fitness operates clubs throughout the United States, Canada, Mexico, India, Australia and New Zealand, with additional clubs currently being developed in the United Kingdom.
