Additional Funding from Develop Training

Employers can now access hundreds of pounds worth of funding to train workers in Leakage Detection and other related NVQs.

Nottingham, United Kingdom, March 18, 2011 --(PR.com)-- Employers can now access hundreds of pounds worth of funding to train workers in Leakage Detection and other related NVQs.

The funding has been awarded to Develop Training from the Skills Funding Agency and the firm is just one of a small number of training providers given the money under the Government’s Train to Gain Scheme.

Under the initiative, employers can access subsidised training courses to improve the skills of their workforce and the efficiency of their business.

The funding is available for eight different NVQs - Leakage Detection NVQ Level 2; Network Construction Operations Main Laying; Network Construction Operations Level 2 NVQ in Service Laying; Gas Network Operations NVQ Level 2 in Main Laying or Service Laying; Operating Process Plant NVQ Level 2 in Water, Waste Water or Sludge; Distribution Control NVQ Level 2; Business Administration NVQ Level 2; Team Leader NVQ Level 2; and Management NVQ Level 3.

The funding can be accessed by business of all sizes, although those with more than 1,000 employees will not be eligible for the full amount. Businesses with less than 1,000 employees can claim the maximum sum, which could mean courses cost as little as £100, depending on individual circumstances.

Government funding is also available for a number of Apprenticeship schemes at Level 2 or 3 for the utility industry, with discounts applicable to both open programme courses and bespoke apprenticeships.

Leanne Day, Funding Executive at Develop Training, said, “Many businesses may be surprised to find that, despite all the publicity surrounding spending cuts, it is still possible to access funding if you know where to look. The Government recognises the need for businesses to invest in their staff in order to grow stronger and as such those working in certain sectors are still eligible for financial support.

“However we already know that this funding pot is not bottomless and as such businesses should apply sooner rather than later if they are to claim successfully.”
