New Social Content Destination Shares Experiences of Single Women Over Age 40

AllTheSingleGirlfriends.com gives single women 40+ a totally integrated way to discuss their lives. One in four U.S. women are single and age 40 or older. Yet, few media address their information needs. This is a highly-affluent consumer audience that is responsible for a huge volume of U.S. purchases.

Atlanta, GA, February 19, 2011 --(PR.com)-- Single women over age 40 just got a better way to share their life experiences with like-minded women. Today, All The Single Girlfriends announced the launch of its new social content destination (www.allthesinglegirlfriends.com) which focuses on women 40+ who approach the world with attitude and style—and who at this point of their lives, are not in a “traditional” committed relationship.

The site is written by women over the age of 40 who discuss a broad range of topics, including travel, food, healthcare, entertainment, politics, the “sandwich generation,” love, romance, sex and whatever else girlfriends talk about among themselves. Currently, about twenty authors have volunteered to post their stories on a regular basis. Since this is a content site, diversity of opinion and lifestyle will be expressed in posts, videos, photos which reinforces that there is not one way to “be single.”

“I thought it would be fun to find a place in the digital world where I could hang out with other women who had similar life experiences,” said Toby Bloomberg, Founding Girlfriend of All The Single Girlfriends. “There isn’t another social content destination on the web specifically for single women over 40. So my girlfriends and their girlfriends, from as far away as the Philippines, collaborated. The result is All The Single Girlfriends.”

“Most of the other sites we identified were real slick, giving the impression that they were designed as businesses," added Bloomberg, herself a renowned social media expert who has been publishing the award-winning blog Diva Marketing for almost seven years. "Although we do want to monetize this, the heart of the site is “girlfriends just talking to girlfriends.”

All The Single Girlfriends enters the market at a time when there are more single women over age 40 than any other time in U.S. history. Most American women (59%) are age 40 and over; and 42% are of those women are currently single (widowed, divorced or never married). That means more than 30 million American women are 40+ and single.

The media limits coverage of women 40+ issues to health and fitness, losing weight, dating and sex, looking younger and the “sexiest women” over 40, 50, 60, etc. All The Single Girlfriends addresses those issues and much more through the voices of real women who are telling their life stories to real women.

All The Single Girlfriends gives women who are single and over 40 years of age the opportunity to build friendships with other women who have similar life experiences and life challenges.

“When we spoke to women in this demographic, we discovered that they have a lot to share with each other but they have no place to go,” said Marianne Richmond, a Founding Girlfriend. “These women are very excited about All The Single Girlfriends. Even more, they’re very generous about sharing their personal stories. That’s what sets us apart.”

The most popular content topic is “Just Life” where Girlfriends talk about what’s happening in their lives and how they are moving toward the future. All The Single Girlfriends is real women telling their own stories to other real women. And they want the women reading their stories to share their own experiences.
