Cypress Bend Resort Hosts Photo Contest to Celebrate Northwest Louisiana’s Rich History, Abundant Wildlife
From a stunning sunset over Toledo Bend Lake to the flora and fauna at Hodges Gardens State Park, professional and non-professional photographers will seek out the best images depicting life in Sabine Parish.
Many, LA, February 19, 2011 --(PR.com)-- The natural wildlife and rich heritage of Louisiana’s Sabine Parish will be celebrated in a photo contest hosted by Cypress Bend Resort. From a favorite café or a stunning sunset over Toledo Bend Lake to the flora and fauna at Hodges Gardens State Park, professional and non-professional photographers will seek out the best images depicting northwest Louisiana.
Photo entries will be accepted beginning Monday, March 7, the anniversary of the creation of the Parish by Louisiana State Legislature in 1843. Photographers may submit one photo to Photo@cypressbend.com by April 15, 2011 for consideration. A name and phone number must accompany the photo submission.
Entries will be hosted on Facebook.com/CypressBendResort. Facebook fans will vote on the photo entries from April 16 – 22. The photo entry with the most votes will receive a two-night stay at Cypress Bend Resort complete with dinner for two and two rounds of golf (part of the famed Audubon Golf Trail).
“Most people identify Louisiana with New Orleans and Jazz music, but there is another side to our great state. We wanted to bring awareness to the diverse culture and beautiful scenery the northwestern part of Louisiana has to offer,” said Kerry Bennett, director of operations at Cypress Bend Resort.
From historic Fort Jesup founded in 1822 by Lieutenant Colonel Zachary Taylor (who later became the 12th President of the United States) to a stately whooping crane, photographers will find plenty of subject matter in Sabine Parish.
Nature enthusiasts can also explore the 600-acres of natural forest surrounding Cypress Bend Resort for flora, fauna and wildlife such as eagles, turtles and alligators.
