Portrait Health Centers Announces Parent University Lecture Series
Portrait Health Centers of Buffalo Grove announce Parent University, a free lecture series aimed to address the needs of families who face challenges in raising healthy and responsible children.
Buffalo Grove, IL, February 19, 2011 --(PR.com)-- The Portrait Health Centers for the Healing Arts of Buffalo Grove, Illinois, a multi-specialty evaluation center specializing in ADHD and learning disabilities announced today a free lecture series of timely and relevant topics aimed to assist parents of children and adolescents. All Parent University lectures will be presented by Portrait Health’s team of healthcare practitioners at the Portrait Health Center in Buffalo Grove.
Dr. Jack Maggiore, Chief Healthcare Officer of Portrait Health explains, “Children do not come with instruction manuals to guide parents in understanding the behaviors that children portray and the decisions they make. Our intent is to design a curriculum that provides a frank overview and unbiased discussion of subjects that are of particular interest to all parents of school age children.”
Parent University is but one of the many community resources provided by Portrait Health Centers to address the needs of families who face challenges in raising healthy and responsible children. Susan Keener, RN, Vice President of Portrait Health Centers states, “In designing Parent University, it is our hope that parents will become aware of the services provided by Portrait Health Centers and connect with our multi-specialty team of practitioners in providing education to parents, who are the primary providers of guidance, healthcare, and learning. We recognize that ultimately the family unit becomes our patient, and by addressing the needs of the entire family, we achieve better outcomes.”
Henry Warner, President of Portrait Health Centers affirms, “The vision of Parent University stemmed from our desire to extend our care into the surrounding community and to foster relationships with our partners in education and healthcare. This educational outreach program will serve as the model for all future Portrait Health Centers throughout the United States.”
Parent University is also recommended for educators and healthcare practitioners who provide services to children and families. Space for Parent University is limited, and pre-registration is recommended. To register and view the complete Parent University list of topics and learning objectives, visit www.portraithealthcenters.com, or call Portrait Health Center of Buffalo Grove at 847-868-3435.
