Hillsborough, NC, February 22, 2011 --(PR.com)-- Communication Matters, the Hillsborough, North Carolina-based strategic marketing company, was one of four generous sponsors for the Murphey School Radio Show on February 19 to benefit mental health organizations in the Triangle. The radio show, to be performed in an old-fashioned radio format, will be held at the Shared Visions Retreat Center in the historic Murphey School Auditorium on Old Highway 10 in Orange County. The event will benefit Club Nova, Cross Disabilities, Inc. (XDS,) Freedom House Recovery Center, and Mental Health America of the Triangle (MHAT). “It's vital that businesses and individuals step forward to support better recovery services in our community,” states Libbie Hough, founder and owner of Communication Matters, one of the sponsors for the event. “Be it for mental illness, substance abuse or any other illnesses that may strike, we're all better off when we take care of those around us.”

Hough’s donation is also in keeping with her commitment to serving the community in diverse ways. In addition to sponsoring the Murphey Radio Show, Hough is also currently serving a second term as a member of the board of directors of two local non-profits - the Hillsborough/Orange County Chamber of Commerce and MHAT, one of the beneficiaries of the event. She is also an active volunteer with the American Heart Association and Orange County’s Friends of the Public Library.

About the Murphey School Radio Show
“Think of it as a cross between 'Austin City Limits,' 'Saturday Night Live' and 'A Prairie Home Companion,' but featuring your favorite Triangle singers, writers, and celebrities,” the show’s website writes. The program will feature an ensemble of performers including The Piedmont Players, Stella a Capella, and gospel phenomenon Jennifer Evans. Notable area writers Jaki Shelton Green, Jill McCorkle, Bland Simpson, and Daniel Wallace round out the entertainment line up. Radio veteran Rob Gringle and literary adventurer Georgann Eubanks will host the event, and Donna Campbell of Minnow Media is producing the show.
