Miami Dolphins’ Defensive End Kendall Langford Announces Inaugural Free Youth Football Camp for Kids
Kendall Langford, breakout defensive end for the Dolphins will host a free youth football camp on March 26, 2011 from Noon – 4:00 pm in Miami.
Miami, FL, February 22, 2011 --(PR.com)-- Kendall Langford, breakout defensive end for the Dolphins will host a free youth football camp on March 26, 2011 from Noon – 4:00 pm in Miami. The camp will be held at the NFL YET Center located at 7090 N.W. 22nd Ave., and is free to the first 200 area youth, ages 8-16.
The NFL Youth Education Town (YET) Center’s philosophy of coupling education with recreation to help disadvantaged children reach success is strongly in line with Kendall’s vision.
Kendall and his NFL colleagues will work with area youth in an effort to inspire and enlighten them through football. In addition to a full day of football drills and fundamentals, the main component of the camp is the mentoring the campers will receive from their NFL heroes. The players will share their personal inspirational stories of what it took to achieve their dreams, the importance of education and provide tools for rejecting negative influences.
Kendall has quickly made a name for himself since entering the league in 2008. His hard work and dedication on the field has earned him a starting position with the Dolphins. He applies that same commitment and zeal to his endeavors off the field through many of the Dolphin’s community projects, from the Miami Dolphins’ Kids Fishing Clinic to the Holiday Toy Drive. It was only natural that Kendall would branch out and create an outlet to give back and impact youth.
“I’ve been able to accomplish what I have thus far because I work hard and believe in my ability,” says Langford. “It also helped that the people surrounding me instilled that in me from an early age. So I really want to share that with these kids and show them what they can achieve regardless of their circumstances.”
Many local businesses are supportive of Kendall and his mission, and have come onboard as sponsors to help ensure the success of this inaugural camp. Participating sponsors to date include Palms Hotel & Spa, Publix, Title Sports Drink, Duffy’s Sports Grill, and Wise Snacks.
Campers can register the day of camp on site starting at 11:00am. Parents or guardians must sign a release form for each camper. Lunches and drinks will be provided.
Sponsorship opportunities are still available, for more information contact Profiles Public Relations at (770) 222-2229. For additional information, please contact camp coordinator Katrina Leonce, profilespr@gmail.com
