Del Frisco's Double Eagle Steakhouse to Open in Boston's Seaport District
Award-winning steakhouse to offer over 13,000 square feet of picturesque waterfront dining.
Boston, MA, February 23, 2011 --(PR.com)-- The award-winning Del Frisco’s Double Eagle Steak House, known for its prime steak, fresh-off-the-boat seafood and genuine hospitality, will debut in Boston on April 23, 2011. Offering waterfront dining with unparalleled city views, the elegant 350-plus seat restaurant, located at Liberty Wharf, steps away from the Seaport World Trade Center, promises over 13,000 square feet of harbor views with sleek and sexy interiors. It will occupy the space that formerly housed the famed landmark restaurant Jimmy’s Harborside.
“We are thrilled to be in Boston,” said Del Frisco’s CEO, Mark Mednansky. “Bostonians have been visiting us for years at locations like NYC, Charlotte and Dallas so we’re proud to finally be opening in their hometown. With the iconic Jimmy’s space, we believe we’ve found the perfect location to introduce Del Frisco’s to this great city.”
Del Frisco’s Boston will boast the same upscale menu items and signature elements as its sister locations in New York, Philadelphia, Dallas, Fort Worth, Charlotte, Denver and Las Vegas. Every Del Frisco’s location has been recognized locally with “Best of” awards by its home city.
Del Frisco’s has won national acclaim receiving awards such as the Di Rona Award for Distinguished Restaurants of North America; Nation’s Restaurant News Fine Dining Hall of Fame; Restaurants & Institutions Magazine Ivy Award; and The Wine Spectator “Best of” Award of Excellence.
Prime Steaks, Seafood and More
Del Frisco’s menu offers the finest quality and selection of meats and seafood, with prime beef as its namesake. Acquired straight from the Midwest, the restaurant’s prime aged, corn-fed beef is never frozen, and the chef cuts the steak to order right off the loin when the ticket enters the kitchen.
Del Frisco’s has continued to source their quality beef from the same provider for more than 20 years.
The restaurant also prides itself on serving the freshest seafood selections. With a prime waterfront location, the chef is able to purchase fresh-caught seafood straight from the boats of local Boston fisherman. In addition to prime cut steaks and seafood, customer favorites include: large Australian Cold-Water Lobster Tails, Veal Porterhouse, Lamb Chops, as well as signature Jumbo Lump Crab Cakes and hearty family-style side dishes.
Over 1,200 Selections of Wine
Recognized nationally for its award-winning cuisine and fine wine offerings, Del Frisco’s will offer full-time sommeliers to assist customers in selecting the perfect bottle of wine to accompany their meal. The restaurant’s wine list consists of over 1,200 selections from all over the world, with over 9,000 bottles in inventory. Del Frisco’s will house nine separate wine cellars including its signature floor to ceiling wine wall located in the grand foyer, and an intimate private dining wine cellar.
Executive Team
At the helm of Del Frisco’s Boston will be General Manager Gregg Rinaldi, who was most recently at Del Frisco’s sister restaurant, Sullivan’s Steakhouse in Raleigh, N.C. Rinaldi has more than seventeen years of restaurant management experience. Derek Barragan will serve as Executive Chef, an appointment earned after four years with the organization. Del Frisco’s will ultimately employ a staff of 250 employees.
“I’m so glad to be moving to Boston,” said Rinaldi. “One would think that I was a Bostonian in a former life, as I’ve always been a die-hard Red Sox and Patriots fan. I look forward to bringing my passion for the hospitality industry to one of the greatest cities in the world and welcoming my favorite athletes to the restaurant,” exclaimed Rinaldi.
Sleek Architectural Design
Known for spectacular detail in its interior décor, Del Frisco’s Boston was designed by The Johnson Studio, an esteemed Atlanta-based architectural design firm with an expertise in hospitality projects. Luxurious finishes in the restaurant include classic millwork and Italian travertine, both enhanced by earth tone fabrics ranging from warm grays and browns to rust colors. Pops of color and a one-of-a-kind art collection further define the impressive surroundings. Additional decorative elements include plush leather seating accented with velvety textures and soft carpet designs.
Signature architectural features include: Ten foot windows providing picturesque views of Boston’s waterfront; a sprawling waterfront patio dining area; a large circular bar with full harbor views of downtown Boston including an intimate lounge with small dining tables; nine different wine rooms with the capacity to store over 9,000 bottles of wine and an elaborate entry way featuring a floor-to-ceiling wine wall and grand staircase.
Private Dining
A private dining wine cellar provides the perfect setting for intimate dinners and business meetings for up to 16 guests, while the Del Frisco’s fully wired private boardroom accommodates up to 64 guests with state-of-the-art audio and visual technology and a wall-mounted plasma television.
