New York, NY, September 16, 2005 --(PR.com)-- The Women Presidents’ Organization (WPO) has named Chicago as the location for its 2006 annual conference, to be held April 27 – 29 at the Ritz-Carlton. With approximately 1000 members and 55 chapters located throughout the U.S. and in Canada, the WPO has experienced rapid growth since its inception. The annual conference offers WPO members the opportunity to share experiences in business with other successful female entrepreneurs from all over the country and Canada, as well as gain important information from interactive seminars and speakers.
“WPO members are looking forward to the 2006 conference,” said Marsha Firestone, Ph.D., president and founder of the WPO. “Our members are influential, powerful women who contribute significantly to the U.S. economy.” According to the Center for Women’s Business Research, annual expenditures by women-owned enterprises are estimated to be $103 billion, and nearly half of all privately-held firms (48% or 10.6 million) are at least 50% owned by a woman or women.
