Android SMEStorage Cloud File Manager Version 1.7 Features Support for SharePoint for Business Users
SMEStorage has announced a new release of Android Cloud File Manager, an important update to their popular multi cloud File Manager for Android phones and tablets.
London, United Kingdom, February 24, 2011 --(PR.com)-- Version 1.7 features support for the Microsoft SharePoint Cloud using a special version of the SMEStorage WebDav connector which supports SharePoint installations, with WebDav turned on, using Basic or NTLM authentication. Using Android SMEStorage business users can easily work with their SharePoint files on Android devices or alternatively with other mobile clients that SMEStorage supports, BlackBerry, iPhone/iPad and the Nokia N7.
CEO Ian Osborne explained, “We have been asked from many of our business users to support local and hosted SharePoint installations for quite a while now and many of them wanted to be able to use their default authentication, namely NTLM, which they now can. Unlike other providers we don’t look to replace SharePoint but rather integrate with it and extend its use on devices, Operating Systems, and on other tool integrations that we provide. Many of our business users are now able to easily use SharePoint, Google Docs and Amazon S3 together, managing their files from a single cloud file system.”
SharePoint is only available to SMEStorage Personal Lifetime Cloud or Organisation ‘Cloud File Server’ business users. New users who want to take advantage of managing their SharePoint files on the move with their Android device, using iSME/storage, must register for the package appropriate to them from the SMEStorage website.
