Women on the Verge (WOTV) Community an Official Participant in Celebration of International Women’s Month during March, 2011
Tucson, AZ, February 24, 2011 --(PR.com)-- Women on the Verge founder Ana Lewis announces the official participation of WOTV in the month-long celebration of International Women’s Month during March, 2011. Lewis notes: “On March 8th, we will hold a blog push on our site encouraging women around the world to write about the women who have inspired them… a homage to their heroines.”
Each year around the world, International Women's Day (IWD) is celebrated on March 8. Hundreds of events occur not just on this day but throughout the month to mark the economic, political and social achievements of women. Organizations, governments and women's groups around the globe choose themes each year to reflect global and local gender issues. Some years have seen global IWD themes honored around the world, while in other years groups have preferred to localize their themes to make them more specific and relevant. This year marks IWD’s 100th anniversary.
Women on the Verge is a free online community of more than 10,000 women (and a few men) with an international reach. On an average day on the WOTV website, one could learn how food equates to love, why young women need encouragement to see their own inner beauty, or enjoy an articulate woman’s-eye view of the challenges of an experienced entrepreneur. With blogs, videos and personal connections, women share their outlook on life, health, business and how to live better. The IWD slogan, “Enlighten Women’s Minds, Empower Women’s Hearts... For a Better World” fits very well with the WOTV creed that by connecting on the WOTV website and radio show, women can support each other in a way that leads to better health in mind, body and spirit.
Lewis, also the founder of award-winning web design company Co-Op Web, reminds us that Women on the Verge is a fresh, growing, free, global, online community of women encouraging and supporting each other to speak and let their voices be heard.
