Radiometrix Makes EDN’s Hot 100
TXL2 & RXL2 radio modules rated amongst the best products of 2010
London, United Kingdom, February 25, 2011 --(PR.com)-- Radiometrix is pleased to announce that it’s TXL2 and RXL2 radio modules have been included in EDN magazine’s Hot 100 Products, covering the most innovation electronics products of 2010. The multi-channel TXL2 transmitter and RXL2 receiver modules offer users reliable, high performance, wireless communication with low power consumption.
Available on the 433MHz European ISM Band and custom frequencies, these modules can be used to establish transparent one-way radio data links that support data rates of 9600 bps, with a line-of-sight range of 500m.
Unlike raw FM radio module alternatives, these modules take care of preamble, synchronisation, bit balancing, error checking, and noise squelching, as well as all transmit timing, valid data identification and datastream buffering activities, allowing data links to be set up with the minimum of engineering effort. Each module can be assigned 1 of 8 unique addresses, so that a multiple radio link network can be established, provided no two modules are attempting to transmit at the same time on the same channel.
The transmitter has an output power of 10 dBm (10 mW) and the receiver has a sensitivity of -107 dBm. The modules require a 5V power supply and draw just 28 mA for transmitting and 22mA for receiving. They have an operating temperature range of -20 °C to +70 °C. These modules are ideally suited for fast prototyping and a variety of applications including industrial telemetry, data logging and remote data acquisition.
