Vaco Raleigh to Promote New Digital Media Bill at Game Developers Conference
Troy Knight & Wake County Economic Development to Promote Triangle Economy at Conference
Raleigh, NC, February 25, 2011 --(PR.com)-- Sid Mitchener, technology practice partner of Vaco Raleigh, LLC (http://www.vaco.com), an executive placement and consulting firm, has announced that Troy Knight, director of Vaco’s design and media division, will be attending the Game Developers Conference (GDC) Monday, Feb. 28 through Friday, March 4 at the Moscone Center in San Francisco.
This year will mark the 25th anniversary of the GDC, which focuses on providing professional developers an opportunity to network, learn and help shape the future of the gaming industry. Knight, in conjunction with Wake County Economic Development (http://www.raleigh-wake.org), will be promoting Wake County at the conference as a great place for gaming and simulation companies to set up and thrive. He will highlight the 15 percent tax incentive, called the Digital Media Bill, recently approved by the N.C. General Assembly for interactive digital media production companies based in the state. The tax credit will be applied to compensation for employees involved in the development of interactive media and platforms to run digital media.
Quotes:
“This conference is a great opportunity for both Troy and the Triangle,” said Mitchener. “Emphasizing the tax incentives now offered to digital media companies in North Carolina will position the Triangle as a desirable area to serve as the main hub for this industry.”
“I am looking forward to attending the GDC,” said Knight. “It is a great opportunity to network with talented individuals in the industry and to promote the opportunities for companies in the Triangle.”
