One Family’s Surprising Adventure: a Dream That Became a Reality Published by Outskirts Press
Author June Fitzgerald’s true story of a man who sold his business, sold his house and moved his family of five to another state answers two questions many people secretly have on their minds: Is it possible to follow a dream? Can dreams come true?
Andover, MA, February 25, 2011 --(PR.com)-- Author June Fitzgerald announced today the release of her second book, an autobiography, A Dream that Became a Reality, published by Outskirts Press. Humor, heartbreak and hope are some of the milestones readers will pass on this unusual journey of a man who seemingly overnight decides to sell his business and his house and move his family to Maine to build and run a motel, something neither he nor his family knew anything about.
June Fitzgerald was afraid his husband was losing his mind when he first announced to her his “plan.” He was a successful auto technician, they had three little girls and a comfortable home, and she had no intention of giving all that up to do something she knew nothing about somewhere way up by the Canadian border.
But she did.
They moved bag and baggage to Maine, found a piece of land, built a motel from the ground up, furnished it and, amazingly enough, the day they hung out the sign that announced “The Quiet Place” was open for business, customers arrived.
Readers may be much more able to assess carrying out their own dreams after they’ve enjoyed Fitzgerald’s candid tales of keeping the motel going, befriending one unusually quirky, regular visitor, having two more children, running the motel by herself one summer and then watching as the state built a new highway that bypassed the motel altogether.
Readers may find out, too, that they have what it takes to follow their own dreams.
