Group of Six Employees from Avionte Files Suit Against Paperless Staffing for Alleged Violation of the FCRA
St. Paul, MN, February 25, 2011 --(PR.com)-- A group of six individuals filed a Fair Credit Reporting Act complaint in United States District Court against ARA Inc, dba Paperless Staffing on February 14, 2011. The complaint alleges Paperless Staffing pulled at least ten personal credit reports on these individuals without their authorization or a proper purpose over the last two years.
Allegedly, each of the plaintiffs were employed by TempWorks Software, a sister company of Paperless Staffing, prior to 2006. The Plaintiffs allege that confidential information, including social security numbers, was shared with Paperless Staffing and used unlawfully to procure the credit reports.
The plaintiffs allege that none of them were in fact seeking employment from Paperless Staffing at any time or in any capacity during the last two years. Paperless Staffing, however, allegedly stated each of the credit reports was for the purpose of employment. Allegedly, all six individuals are employed by Avionté, a competing staffing software provider.
“Willfully procuring an individual’s personal credit and financial information without authorization or without a lawful, proper purpose, is not only an extreme intrusion of privacy, but unlawful and should not be tolerated,” states Jim MacGillis, attorney for the plaintiffs.
