Website Design by Deecoup - First E-Course for Judicial Education by Delhi Judicial Academy
Deecoup developed a website to facilitate the first ever e-course by Delhi Judicial Academy for Judicial Education in India. The website was launched by Hon’ble Justice Dipak Misra, the Chief Justice of the High Court of Delhi. The course is being conducted in collaboration with the Commonwealth Judicial Education Institute in Canada.
Delhi, India, February 27, 2011 --(PR.com)-- Deecoup.com helped Delhi Judicial Academy launch their first E-course for Judicial Education in India on Feb 21 2011. This Pilot E-course is being conducted in collaboration with the Commonwealth Judicial Education Institute in Canada. The Chief Justice of India is among its Patron Chief Justices from many Commonwealth countries. The duration of the course is two months and 20 judicial officers from the District Courts in Delhi have been enrolled in the Pilot E-course on Judicial Ethics and Conduct. They will watch Podcasts on principles of judicial ethics like independence, impartiality, integrity, disciplinary measure, etc.; read Indian and International Canons, cases and articles on Judicial Ethics; participate in Forum discussions; hold chats, and submit assignments online through the newly created website www.dja-cjei-ecourse.net accessible only to participating judges and facilitators.
Hon’ble Justice Dipak Misra, the Chief Justice of the High Court of Delhi inaugurated the E-course and launched the Website through Video Conference attended by the judges of the High Court of Delhi, participating judicial officers, and judicial officers of all the District Courts in Delhi sitting in four different locations - the High Court of Delhi, the Courts Complexes at Karkardooma, Saket, and Rohini in Delhi. Hon’ble Judge Sandra Oxner, Chairperson of the CJEI participated in the Video Conference from Canada.
Hon’ble Justice Sikri, Chairperson of the Judicial Education and Training Programmes Committee that supervises and guides the Delhi Judicial Academy highlighted the importance of E-courses in judicial education and mentioned that the participating judges would be able to interact with the facilitating judges of the High Court of Delhi and receive international perspectives to issues of judicial ethics while doing this course from the comfort of their homes at hours suitable to them using internet.
Prof. Ved Kumari, Chairperson of the Delhi Judicial Academy mentioned that it was a historical moment in the history of judicial education in India as it has paved the way for use of internet technology to impart judicial education at low cost; make judicial education available to judicial officers at time convenient to them, and bring judges from different jurisdictions together to share experiences and develop best practices for better administration of justice.
The website was created by Deecoup in record time and the team was thrilled at the inauguration function. The sources from Deecoup confirmed that they worked in two shifts to get the site up and running within two weeks.
