James Weeks of Fenton Named as Vistage Michigan Group Chair
Weeks will act as the advisor, mentor, and business coach to his group
St. Clair Shores, MI, March 02, 2011 --(PR.com)-- Vistage Michigan, a membership-based organization that provides business leaders with business perspectives and innovative strategies, has named James T. Weeks, Sr., CPA, JD, as a new Chief Executive (CE) Group Chair. Weeks, of Fenton, is a member at Tyrone Consulting Group, LLC, also in Fenton.
In his role with Vistage Michigan, Weeks will act as the advisor, mentor, and business coach to his group, conducting one-to-one coaching sessions with each member. He also will facilitate nine group workshops per year with his chief executive members.
Weeks’ distinguished business career has spanned more than 35 years. He was the founder and co-principal of a successful third party, vendor oriented equipment leasing company. Following the sale of the company, he became the COO and executive vice present of NBD Equipment Finance, Inc., a subsidiary of NBD Bank, and later served as vice president of NBD Bank and its successors in interest in various capacities.
He has also served as vice president of a captive property and casualty insurance agency specializing in the trucking industry in Indianapolis. His recent experience includes positions as a financial advisor and as president of Fenton-based Hands That Care, Inc. Weeks also has experience as a corporate director.
Weeks holds a Bachelor of Science in Administration, with distinction, from the University of Michigan-Dearborn. After college, he practiced briefly as a CPA with Haskins & Sells (now Deloitte & Touche) before becoming controller of an equipment leasing company and a university instructor in accounting. He thereafter attended the Detroit College of Law from which he graduated with a JD cum laude.
