Lansing, MI, March 02, 2011 --(PR.com)-- Block Imaging International, Inc., the premier global provider of pre-owned, refurbished medical imaging equipment, parts and services announces a new venture in Europe. Block, since 1997, has sourced and sold systems throughout the EMEA region (Europe, Middle East and Africa). The Company recognizes the incredible growth in demand for pre-owned and refurbished systems in Europe and, the somewhat limited opportunities for sellers of used systems to find partners with a global reach; a reach that allows equipment to find its way throughout the world to buyers offering best pricing. To meet this rising demand throughout Europe, Block has entered into an exclusive representative agreement with Consulting4Healthcare, led by Christos Salvanos, who will serve as Block Imaging’s Head of EMEA Region.
Mr. Salvanos, in this new role, will lead the company’s regional initiative in the remarketing of medical equipment from a sales and sourcing perspective. Salvanos brings a significant industry background and years of experience in the healthcare equipment market that began in 1990. After studies in Economics at the University of Bonn in Germany he started his career in the healthcare market. In 2001 he served as Head of Sales International at UMS-NEUROMED AG with direct reporting to the CEO. UMS-NEUROMED AG specialized in medical diagnostic mobile interim solutions for hospitals in Europe and the remarketing of imaging equipment. After working for Siemens Financial Services in the Asset Management Healthcare department as Senior Asset Manager for Asia and Europe until end of 2008, he formed his own company, Consulting4Healthcare, which provides procurement consulting and product lifecycle management solutions to hospitals and other end-users.
Bruce Block, President and Founder of Block Imaging International, stated “This decision to establish a formal office in the greater European region and to have representation by Mr. Salvanos, with his years of experience and deep connections at every level of the imaging and financial communities, will be a very strategic event for us as we continue our global expansion. European hospitals have never needed better outsourcing options more, never been more accepting of pre-owned equipment, and Block has never been better positioned to capitalize on this new paradigm.”
Mr. Salvanos will join the new Block Imaging office in Germany to offer the region local representation for the purchase and sales of pre-owned imaging equipment, spare parts and engineering services. Block, simultaneously, will also roll out its innovative “Partnership” program during the upcoming ECR 2011 annual meeting in Vienna, which offers a complete array of services specifically designed to give hospitals and financing companies a one-stop-shop for equipment valuations, inspections, removals, spare parts, financing opportunities and engineering services.
