National Massage Therapy Institute Expands Its Curriculum
Philadelphia, PA, March 04, 2011 --(PR.com)-- National Massage Therapy Institute (NMTI) has created two massage therapy specialties as additions to its core curriculum. These specialties in Sports Massage and Muscle Performance Therapies and Prenatal, Infant and Geriatric Massage Therapies were created to meet industry demands, and will help make students more marketable to potential employers in these specialized massage settings.
National Massage Therapy Institute (NMTI) works with an advisory board of industry experts to constantly improve and upgrade its program as the landscape of the profession changes. As an increased number of Americans in all age groups look to massage therapy for maintaining and increasing health and wellness, the massage therapy industry’s need for qualified massage therapists continues to grow.1 To meet this need, students can now choose to continue their education following the 630 hour core massage therapy program with one of the new specialty modules. This additional training will be available to all prospective, current and past graduates of NMTI at its four convenient campus locations in Northeast Philadelphia, PA, Falls Church, VA, Wilmington, DE, and Egg Harbor Township, NJ.
“Our specialty programs will prepare students to succeed in two rapidly expanding areas of massage,” said Ron Diana, NMTI’s National Director of Education. “Our Sports Massage and Muscle Performance Therapies specialty allows the student to focus on career aspirations working with athletes of all levels. In this specialty, the focus will be sports theory, performance enhancement techniques, cramp relief techniques, stretching techniques and injury risk reduction techniques. The specialty in Prenatal, Infant and Geriatric Therapies will prepare students for working with patients in a range of life stages and focus on pathological conditions, techniques and applications for each,” he added.
NMTI leadership measures its success by how well its students are prepared for and obtain jobs upon program completion. With the introduction of the new Sports Massage and Muscle Performance Therapies and Prenatal, Infant and Geriatric Massage Therapies Specialties, NMTI furthers its commitment to encourage student success.
The NMTI President, Bob Cappel says that, “I think the thing that makes the school special is a real interest and investment in the student to ensure they are successful.
