At-risk sixth grade students afforded opportunity to strengthen learning skills

Camden, NJ, March 05, 2011 --(PR.com)-- Catapult Learning announced the pilot implementation of its AchieveReading™ blended learning system in the Octavius V. Catto Community School, based in Camden, NJ. The pilot which is being rolled out to 35 sixth grade students needing extra assistance in reading and language arts, also includes the use of refurbished laptops computers and headsets.

The AchieveReading™ system, which blends Catapult Learning’s teacher-led and computer-based instruction, is designed to supplement Catto’s traditional language arts classes. Qualified students will have the opportunity to participate in the pilot program outside of their regular classroom twice a week.

“The goal of the AchieveReading pilot is twofold: prepare Catto students for the New Jersey ASK (Assessment of Skills and Knowledge test), and provide strategies that will strengthen their reading aptitude over the long term,” said Christine Hayes, Catapult Learning’s Director of Public School Operations.
