DropDigger Reveals Hundreds of Unregistered Domains with Links from the World’s Biggest Websites

Broken links to unregistered domains from some of the Internet’s most prestigious sites provide a new untapped gold seam for domain buyers and search engine marketers.

London, United Kingdom, March 07, 2011 --(PR.com)-- London-based Internet marketing company DropDigger.com has revealed a list of hundreds of unregistered domains that are linked to from some of the web’s top authority sites. For prospective site owners, these domains have a head start in the search engine rankings because of their existing inbound links, and yet are significantly cheaper than buying domains that have already been registered.

The service is providing new sources of revenue to both domain prospectors and search engine marketers. For domain prospectors, these domains are cheap to buy and yet can sell for many more times the price of normal domains. For search marketers, these domains provide a great base for creating niche or affiliate-sites, or for creating micro-sites that link to other properties and clients.

The domains listed by DropDigger are all linked to by so-called ‘authority’ sites – or sites that are highly valued by search engines such as Google. These authority sites include government, military, academic and media sites from all around the world. The domains are either misspellings or typos – where the authority site has linked to an incorrect web address – or domains that have been abandoned since the authority site created their link.

Carl Eisenstein, founder of DropDigger.com, said today: “We’re delighted to have got DropDigger off the ground. It’s taken a large amount of technical innovation – we’re scanning hundreds of thousands of new pages every day and indexing millions of links. It’s a bigger project than any of us ever expected! But I know that as a digital marketer myself that this is a service that I will use every day – even to promote DropDigger itself – so I know the value of these links to the marketing community.”

The domain list is growing all of the time, and is available for free at http://www.dropdigger.com/
