A New Sci-Fi Novel Offers real solutions to Today’s Global Problems

Denver, CO, February 18, 2007 --(PR.com)-- If someone came to us from one hundred years in the future, what would they tell us about the consequences of our current direction, and how would we react? When Alyson Higg’s quantum scientist team as well as particle physics labs in eleven countries are contacted by a “photon probe” from the year 2108, they are given a golden opportunity to change the world. But when the power of the future is revealed, it sets in motion a global race where terrorists, criminals, and the “technology Mafia” are intent on destroying that which they cannot control.

In the science fiction/suspense novel Turn of the Century 2100, author Charlie Pedersen not only takes us on a sci-fi adventure but also challenges readers to awaken their consciousness as to our own real-life global crisis. Through utilizing his story as a sounding board, Pedersen asks us to take a serious look at the problems we face today in the areas of energy, water, terrorism, genocide, human trafficking, multiculturalism, and poverty.

“Turn of the Century 2100 is a story of confrontation and choices,” Pedersen says, “which puts the reader between positive action and one of the strongest forces in the universe—denial. In other words, don’t sit there in denial and believe the problems are just too big. Take responsibility. “Change the Mix,” by taking steps in a new direction. Recognize that we are at the brink of a new paradigm that’s been building for quite some time. Does the twenty-first century need yet another lesson of war, pandemic disease, and human degradation? Doesn’t the fact that the biggest antagonists of the twentieth century are now the largest economic and political partners teach us anything about the advantages of a mindset of a ‘global neighborhood’ versus a world primarily based on the balance of power?”

As readers of Turn of the Century 2100 receive a glimpse into the twenty-second century and the dilemmas of the twenty-first, we are given a primer on quantum mechanics and what it would really take to engage in time-travel. We are also introduced to the science of Hydro-Enerplex, an integrated water and energy strategy - “a new synergistic paradigm,” Pedersen says, “that would stimulate world economies and world ecology.”

Author Charlie Pedersen has emerged from the executive ranks of information technology, finance and the aerospace private sector to write genre-blend novels that tackle contemporary issues. With a broad background that includes working with the Apollo Lunar module systems and the creation of what is now America’s largest Automated Teller Network, the Star System, he was able to achieve a clear understanding of the human and organizational dynamics necessary to effect significant large-scale change.
