Vitex LLC Showcases Compact Tunable Lasers at OFC 2011

Cranford, NJ, March 09, 2011 --(PR.com)-- Vitex LLC, a leading supplier of fiber optic components, will present tunable lasers from Chemoptics at OFC 2011, a company representative said. These devices provide cost-effective solutions for WDM-PON applications.

The Chemoptics tunable laser is an external cavity laser based on the thermo-optic tuning of a polymer waveguide Bragg reflector. This device is designed for use in WDM systems where the capability to change wavelengths on demand over C-band and L-band with 100GHz channels spacing is essential. By selecting an appropriate gain chip, thermo-optic tuning of wavelength over 26nm is possible. These tunable lasers are also capable of modulations speed up to 2.5Gbps.
