As perhaps the oldest event of its kind in Switzerland, the classical festival of music is now celebrating its 51st edition and this year performances promise to be as good as its predecessors. Premier billed performances include those from one of the world’s, and certainly America’s most renowned baritone, Thomas Hampson.
Raising the baton to bring the best out of the Gustav Mahler Youth Orchestra will be the music director for the Paris Opera, Philippe Jordan. Other key performances will be the uplifting European Union Youth Orchestra along with several solo recitals to ensure the concerts have something for all classical music tastes.
